I have been involved in integrative health practices all my life and believe that there are multiple approaches to healthcare and well-being. Growing up in Hong Kong, I was introduced to the benefits of Chinese medicine, complementary approaches and Western medicine at an early age. Over the years, yoga, meditation, Buddhism and martial arts philosophy have contributed to my own spiritual development.

My association with Dr. Carl Rogers and collaboration with colleagues at the Center for Studies of the Person in the 1970’s have infused all my work with a person-centered and unconditional listening approach. My master’s degree in Asian Studies (emphasis in religion & philosophy), my doctorate in Cultural Anthropology and seven years of experience in international marketing research broadened my worldview and strengthened my curiosity and respect for differences among people and cultures.

I began to incorporate energy work into my consulting practice in 1998 and then received intensive training with Tapas Fleming to become a certified Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) Professional and TAT Trainer in 2002. I was initiated in all three degrees of Reiki by Terry Attwood. As a Reiki Master, I started the Reiki Clinic for doctors, nurses and staff at the Stanford Cancer Center in 2007, and currently I lead the Reiki for Patients program at Stanford Health Care.

As an Advanced Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, PaRama BP and BodyTalk Access Trainer, I continue to advance my training in this modality. When first introduced to BodyTalk, I was skeptical about what it could do for me. After a few sessions, I was amazed that my year-long chronic shoulder pain disappeared. BodyTalk also helped me in eliminating ongoing leg cramps, accelerated the healing of a broken wrist and addressed digestive discomforts. I have also witnessed how BodyTalk helped my family, friends and clients.

In addition to working with individuals on their personal growth and well-being, I continue to consult to leaders in corporations , incorporating energy work when appropriate. By combining more than 15 years of energy healing expertise with 30+ years of award winning business and consulting experience in career, leadership and team development, I am thrilled to be able to integrate my training and life experiences to offer services in facilitating people living more optimal lives.

Throughout my life I have been interested in integrative health. I am inspired to help people live in balance and encourage them to bring out their best potential. I use a variety of methods to enhance people’s movement, alignment and energy flow. I enjoy helping people improve their range of motion and to feel better as a person, both energetically and physically.

Movement and dance have part of my life since age 5. Dance, to me, is art in motion, and it has the power to connect and touch people’s hearts. I have performed in recitals, dance teams, dance competitions, community outreach performances and musical theater productions throughout the Bay Area.  I have taught dance to people from age 6 to 60, acted as rehearsal assistant and dance captain for productions, and choreographed works for Chapman University and Bay Area groups.

After obtaining my B.A. in dance from Chapman University, I pursued another form of movement, becoming certified as a Pilates and a Yoga Instructor. I teach mat exercises, standing Pilates, and exercises on specialized equipment. I was also trained under Marie Jose of Long Beach Dance Conditioning, whose work focuses on body alignment, dance conditioning and injury prevention. I use Franklin Method exercises in my movement routines, as well.

As a Pilates and Yoga instructor, I have taught individuals and group classes in studios, high school, community centers, and corporations including NetApp, NEC and Sun Microsystems. I have worked with athletes, dancers, individuals with injuries and people with fitness goals of all kinds, with clients ranging from age 16 to 80. I also teach movement classes to special population groups, like cancer patients, people with eating disorders, fibromyalgia, physical injuries, special needs children and alzheimer patients. Where appropriate, I incorporate energy work to help relax the muscles, making it easier to move and stretch.

As a Reiki Master/Teacher, I have offered sessions at Kaiser Hospital, San Carlos Senior Center and Stanford Cancer Center & Hospital. I am trained in the Tapas Acupressure Technique®, and continue to take advanced courses as a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner. I offer “Tune-up” sessions, using sound healing instruments to help people relax and release any emotional, mental and physical blockages. In additional to seeing animal clients, I regularly offer energy balancing sessions to cats at Nine Lives Foundation and dogs at Guide Dogs for the Blind. I combine my skills to promote well-being and healthy living. For more information, please go to movingtoheal.com
